Are We Having Fun Yet?

How many times have you heard the question, "Are we there yet?" If you are a parent or have ever taken children on a car ride, I bet it is more than once. So then we grow a little older and the question becomes, "Are we having fun yet?"

So what does having fun have to do with business success? In my opinion everything! Why? Because if you are not having fun you are not going to succeed.

Pick your Passion

The real secret to having a successful online business, or any business for that matter, is to follow your passion. There is no denying that a business takes work. But if you love that work then you can answer the fun! question with a resounding Yes!

Take this picture of daisies here. I spent the morning creating it from a photograph of wild flowers that I took last summer at a local park. Now there are quite a few things going on in that one little sentence. Notice I said I spent the morning creating this clipart?

I really can't tell you how long it took me because when I am creating digital art I get lost in the project. Sometimes a whole morning, afternoon or sometimes even a day can go by. How do I feel at the end of such a project? Light and energized. I feel like I actually accomplished something.

The next part of that sentence is the source of this daisy clipart. I took the picture myself. Taking pictures of nature and flowers is a hobby I have enjoyed since I was very young. I think I bought my first camera when I was sixteen. My favorite pictures to take are of tiny wildflowers that many people miss on their walks in the park.

Which brings me to the third part of that sentence. I took the original photograph while walking in the park.

Now how many people do you know who can play all day at what they love doing have a successful business at the same time. Did you ever think of turning your passion into a business?

So when you are sitting at that desk on your nine to five job are you asking yourself, "When will it be my turn to have fun?" If you are not doing what makes your heart sing with joy, maybe it's time to leap into your passion. Share with the world your heart of joy.
