Have you ever lay in bed early in the morning listening as the Chickadee sings out it's name? This little guy is one of those birds that you know the name because when it sings it sounds for sure like it is singing "chicadee, dee, dee".
We were out walking on a cold winter morning when I captured this photo. The sun was shining and snow piled on all the branches. I listened as these black capped chickadees sang their winter song.
Then suddenly I saw one fly past me into the pine on my left. Bird photographs are not the easiest in the world to capture. As a matter of fact I've watched many a nature program where the photographers sit behind what is called a blind.
If you've never heard of a blind it is a protected area created just for observing wildlife unseen. It is the best way to capture wildlife in their natural habitat. The process of taking those perfect shots you see can take hours.
This day though I was lucky. I saw the bird land on that branch. Then just as I grabbed my camera he did a flip and what I captured surprised me even more. The result is this photograph.
May this little bird bring you a whole bunch of cheer this winter. Although we've been lucky to have a mild season this year, you know winter is coming.
Check out my gallery where you can buy this winter Chicadee feeding on pine branches. Yes I misspelled Chickadee the first time. That is a good lesson for those of you who are looking for the best way to sell your photography online. Make sure you look up the spelling of your subject before you hit the send button.
I'd like to say I did this on purpose to capture those searchers who are testing different spellings. But alas that was not the case. Just a matter of forgetting the k.
Sometimes that can be a good thing. You can enjoy this Winter Chickadee in one of three popular sizes. And be sure to check out the framing option while your there. Wouldn't he make a great gift for the bird watcher on your list?
